Meet Kylie

Clinical Lead | Psychotherapist | Social Worker

Kylie Hutchinson

“Support for your story, strength for your journey.”

Healing is rarely a straight line, and I believe that no one should have to walk that path alone. With over a decade of experience in the community and mental health sectors, my practice is built on a foundation of deep empathy, clinical excellence, and the unwavering belief in human resilience.

Based in the Northern Territory, I am intimately familiar with the unique challenges and the incredible strength of regional and remote communities. My goal is to provide a space where you feel safe to explore your past, find clarity in your present, and move toward a future filled with hope.

A Specialist Heart: 10+ Years in Your Corner

Whilst I work with a broad range of emotional challenges, I have dedicated over 10 years to specializing in Family, Domestic, and Sexual Violence (FDSV). My career has taken me from crisis management in a refuge for women and children to providing specialized therapy for child sexual assault survivors.

Advocacy and Early Intervention

I am deeply passionate about advocating for suicide prevention and awareness, as well as the prevention and early intervention of mental health challenges. Having worked on the front lines in Emergency Departments providing crisis mental health assessments, I understand the weight of these moments. My work is informed by a commitment to empowering individuals to recognize and address mental health challenges proactively and with compassion.

Professional Therapeutic Foundations

This practice is firmly established within professional, evidence-based frameworks that address a diverse range of mental health concerns. The utmost priority is placed upon providing a secure and supportive environment that enables personal growth and fosters resilience.

Psychotherapeutic Modalities

I provide psychotherapy incorporating various modalities to support clients in acquiring practical skills and enhancing overall wellbeing, including:

  • Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT)
  • Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR)
  • Narrative Therapy
  • Play Therapy
  • Strengths-based Interventions
  • Psychoeducation to develop skills and strategies that promote coping skills and resilience.

Beyond the Clinic: Advocacy and Inclusion

My work is driven by a passion for inclusivity and community. I am a proud advocate for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities, regularly participating in cultural immersion and consultation to ensure my practice is respectful, sensitive, and inclusive of the First Nations people I am honored to serve.

I believe in giving back to the community through active fundraising and support for:

  • Youth Suicide Prevention: Swam 100kms in one month to raise $1,000 for ReachOut.
  • Homelessness Support: Participating in "Sleep in Your Car" events and supporting Orange Sky.
  • Child Safety: Proud supporter of the Daniel Morcombe Foundation.

My Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Social Work (Honours) – Central Queensland University
  • Postgraduate Certificate in Understanding Childhood Trauma – University of South Australia
  • Diplomas in Counselling, Youth Work, and Community Services – Central Regional T.A.F.E.
  • Certified EMDR Therapist & Play Therapy Practitioner
